About Us

Training Institute for Technical Instruction (TITI) traces its origins to ‘Technical Instructors Training Institute’ established as a Nepali National Institute in 1991 with the assistance of the Swiss Government, Swiss Agency for Development & Cooperation (SDC) through Swisscontact, the Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation. TITI is devoted to meeting the nationwide training needs of technical human resources, managers and curriculum developers in the Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVT) sector. TITI programs and services are mandated by an Act of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).

With a vision to be a “Center of Excellence” in developing professionals in the TVET sector, TITI is moving forward with the mission to provide transformative education through pre-service and in-service training, research employing hands-on skills to TVET. Because of its good environment (physical and working environment) & resources (physical, human and financial), TITI’s recognition and reputation as an excellent institution in the local and international market is growing day by day.

TITI provides training to trainers, technical instructors, managers, occupational curriculum development specialist and community development specialist through regular programs and modules or through customized trainings. The high quality and unique instructional materials used in our modules have been adopted by numerous countries in Asia and beyond.
TITI has trained over 37,746 instructional, managerial and curriculum developers from various countries, such as Afghanistan, Albania, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, India, Indonesia, Kosovo, Mali, Moldova, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Uganda, Vietnam, and ZimbabweTITI has conducted training programs, provided TEVT consultancies and other services to Technical Cooperation-Federal Republic of Germany (GTZ), the Department for International Development (DFID), the Netherlands Development Organization (SNV), ILO/UNDP, SDC, UNICEF, ADRA, SOS, NCED, the Aga Khan Foundation, UNFPA, ADB, ENSSURE, Sakchyamata, Dakchyata and other national and international organizations in Nepal and abroad.

Training Institute for Technical Instruction (TITI) is located in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur. It was established as a Nepali National Institute in 1991. TITI is mandated for its program and service by the act of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training. TITI was initially supported by the Swiss Government through the Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation.
TITI was awarded "Knowledge Management Oscar" in 2005 for the successful Skill Card System from Swisscontact, Switzerland and a special commendation prize for "Innovative Training Practices" in 2006 from the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD), India. TITI celebrated its silver jubilee in 2017, a monument was designed and built in its premises for this function.
